Spambuster — Privacy Policy

Last updated 6 July 2026

Who we are

Spambuster is a form-spam prevention service operated by JOLA (jola.com.au). It verifies form submissions on your website using Google reCAPTCHA and returns a spam score, so bots and unwanted solicitations can be blocked before they reach you. This policy describes what the Spambuster verification service (prod.spambuster.app) receives from sites that install our WordPress/WooCommerce plugin or Shopify app.

What we receive on setup

What we receive on each protected form submission

We do not receive the contents of your forms. Message bodies, names, email addresses and other field values entered by your visitors are not transmitted to Spambuster. Comment submissions send a one-way content hash only (used to detect duplicate spam), from which the original text cannot be recovered.

How we use it

Submission data is used solely to score the submission for spam and to maintain aggregate reputation signals (e.g. IP and user-agent reputation) that improve detection across the service. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Retention

Verification events are retained for up to 12 months for analytics and abuse prevention, then deleted. IP addresses and user-agents are stored in hashed form for reputation scoring. You can request deletion of your site's data at any time by contacting us.

On uninstall

When you uninstall the plugin/app, your site is deregistered from the service and its configuration (including your stored reCAPTCHA keys) is removed.

Third-party services

Protected pages load Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to Google's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
