Turn on Spambuster in your theme

Spambuster only checks your forms once it's switched on in your theme. It's one click and a Save, and takes about a minute.

The short answer

Open Spambuster in your Shopify admin and click Turn on protection. Your theme editor opens with Spambuster selected. Click Save. That's it.

Why there's a switch at all

Shopify doesn't let any app add itself to your store's pages on its own. You switch it on in your theme, so you stay in charge of what runs on your store. Until you do, Spambuster is installed but checks nothing.

  1. App embeds. The Turn on protection button in Spambuster opens this panel for you. To find it yourself: Online Store, Themes, Customize, then the App embeds icon on the left.
  2. reCAPTCHA Spambuster. The switch should be on (dark).
  3. Save. Nothing changes on your store until you click Save, top right.

Check my store

Type your store's address. We look at your home page the way a visitor would and tell you what we find. If you've just clicked Save, give it a minute first.

You can also look in Spambuster: the badge at the top says Protected.

Published a new theme? Each theme has its own switch, and a new theme starts with it off. Switch Spambuster on once more for the new theme.
